
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
This session will provide foundational knowledge regarding: (1) historical and recent trends in strategic partnerships, (2) different types of strategic partnerships and the risks and opportunities they present, and (3) readying the institutions
’ stakeholders for meaningful collaboration. At the end of the session, attendees will have a basic understanding of the M&A environment in higher education, as well as an understanding of the best ways to identify and connect with potential partners.
Learning Objectives: (up to 1 CPE)
1. Describe trends in higher education mergers, acquisitions, and strategic
partnerships.
2. Identify different types of strategic partnerships.
3. Discuss key considerations for readying stakeholders for a strategic partnership.

Our Presenter
Rachel Pauletti is a Director at Forvis Mazars and leads the firm’s higher education consulting practice. An academic by training, Rachel was a full-time faculty member at a small, private nonprofit university before moving into consulting. As a consultant, Rachel has led institutions in all sectors through strategic planning, comprehensive program review, organizational development, and financial planning.
